Blues 1 - 1 Chouans
(385934278)

16-06-2012 21.10
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 22496 had shown up at
Blues T Arena for the match.
Gerhard Turan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Miroslav Čermák and
Màxim Melo.
Blues tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Starters: Kraechenbuehl - Lestón, Yskout, Donnez, Crévon - Sobral, Bozhilov, Morvant, Vitaps - Similä, Filtenborg.
Chouans started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
Lineup: Souplet - Leleu, Homo, Stejar, Hải Quân, Landowski - Milleville, Bossard, Siler - Rolli, Dettendorfer.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Blues.
For their match strategy, Chouans had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Chouans's
V. Bossard after 4 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
Chouans's
D. Stejar placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but
N. Hải Quân couldn't finish.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
M. Siler from Chouans a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 32 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Blues tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play.
G. Homo came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
P. Kraechenbuehl but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
A counterattack by Chouans after 42 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
E. Rolli, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
N. Hải Quân of Chouans was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Blues had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
Chouans's
K. Leleu got himself booked for a foul.
With 73 minutes gone,
W. Dettendorfer suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Chouans caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring.
Chouans's
E. Landowski refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 77 minutes.
J. Morvant showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 78 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 1 - 1 equaliser away.
Blues enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
The most dominating Blues player was without a doubt
R. Similä.
On the other hand,
A. Donnez's play was disheartening.
W. Dettendorfer performed admirably for Chouans.
E. Landowski turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 1.
