25-08-2012 21.10
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 16727 that came out to
Piloner Stadium.
Sabas van Tricht was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Palle Basse and
Per Knutsson.
Piloners tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Dhalluin - Bel, Bertout, Chauvin - Rossard, Bonnay, Lecœuvre, Grond, Lheureux - Chaidron, Figueredo.
MinishTeam had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Le Bail - Magnan, Thäle, Castello - bin Sulog, Balseiro, Mühlbacher, Toukolehto, Skalari - Kern, Rostami.
8 minutes into the match, MinishTeam nearly took the lead, as
B. Rostami broke through on the right.
A. Dhalluin made the save, however.
N. Bonnay of Piloners received a yellow card after 17 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
After 22 minutes, MinishTeam's
X. Balseiro made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1.
With the scoreboard showing that 26 minutes had been played, MinishTeam nearly put themselves up another goal after
G. Skalari came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
The visitors'
P. Mühlbacher took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 30 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for MinishTeam.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
MinishTeam enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
J. Thäle received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 52 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The MinishTeam fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
After this, you could see that the players of MinishTeam were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
MinishTeam's
M. Le Bail left the field after 62 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
N. Meulendijk.
With 66 minutes played,
I. Kern nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
71 minutes in, Piloners's
A. Bertout received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
G. Skalari's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 72 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
I. Kern who knocked it in for MinishTeam. 0 - 4!
74 minutes into the match,
A. Magnan came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
The home crowd cheered when, after 75 minutes,
A. bin Sulog's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
Possession in this half belonged to MinishTeam, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.
Most important Piloners player was
K. Chaidron.
J. Rossard turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating MinishTeam player was without a doubt
P. Mühlbacher.
However,
N. Meulendijk made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 4.
