A scorching day at
Schuk Arena, where 12000 spectators were in place for today's match.
Archie Bosscher was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marcel Babacek and
Adam Vesterskov.
TeamSchuko started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Favier - Vučićević, Koppang, Van Braekel - Narcy, Latabár, Troncy, Galichet, Petäjäsalo - Quentel, Ramachandran.
RLU tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Şükür - Simonet, Ledoux, Thomas, Meyer, Renaudeau - Angebault, Vieira, Leroy, Declemy - Robert.
It was an obvious ambition of RLU to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
After 2 minutes,
C. Renaudeau made a complete fool of himself when he presented the ball to the feet of
L. Quentel who smashed it into the open goal for TeamSchuko. 1 - 0.
The home team will be cursing
J. Angebault for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 1 - 1 after 8 minutes.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
K. Vieira got himself booked. The manager of RLU was not happy.
In a rapid move 20 minutes into the match,
S. Declemy of RLU lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
L. Robert who easily hit it home to make it 1 - 2. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
A penalty was missed by RLU's
K. Vieira 36 minutes into the match. Probably overconfident, he blasted a hard shot miles outside of the left post.
RLU increased their lead after 43 minutes when
J. Angebault broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
With 43 minutes played, RLU put themselves up 1 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was

At that,
L. Robert was noted down for a hat trick!
1 - 5 was the halftime score.

The coach of RLU was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes,
M. Poli came on for
G. Leroy.
64 minutes into the match, the speedy
S. Declemy easily outpaced
K. Van Braekel, chipped the keeper and made the score 1 - 6.
Confident in their lead, RLU's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
65 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 7 as
K. Vieira finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
C. Renaudeau wanted to play on, but the RLU coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 70 minutes into the game by
L. Simon.
R. Thomas became the new RLU captain.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the RLU coach let
J. Mercier replace
S. Declemy after 70 minutes.
With the scoreboard showing that 71 minutes had been played, RLU nearly put themselves up another goal after
L. Robert came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
RLU had most of the ball, with 72 percent of possession.
TeamSchuko's top performer was clearly
A. Ramachandran.
J. Petäjäsalo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
L. Robert performed admirably for RLU.
On the other hand,
Ş. Şükür's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 7.
