The 45260 spectators at JAD were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Leon Triebenbacher was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Roffe Larsson and Gerardo Furnari. Drancy started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Bouillancourt tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Bansemer - Mastrototaro, Baptista Gonçalves, Tell - Rondelli, Randolo, Eimsbüttel, Zecchin, Berger - Lefebvre, Stanwood.

Bouillancourt clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. K. Stanwood came close to putting the visiting team one up 13 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but P. Jansson managed to tip the ball to a corner. It might be a while before the fans see Drancy's P. Jansson again, after he had to leave the field in great distress at the 16 minute mark. He was replaced by M. Senghor. C. Leuteritz sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from T. MacConnechy after 17 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 0. Drancy increased the lead as B. Das struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. 40 minutes into the match, Bouillancourt replied and reduced the lead to 2 - 1. U. Mastrototaro scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Bouillancourt claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.

The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 50 minutes, F. Baptista Gonçalves broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. M. Senghor made a great block, though. E. Zecchin's penalty kick ended up in the arms of the keeper, preventing the equaliser, 51 minutes into the game. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 63 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Bouillancourt's S. Randolo to one side and produced a red card for the player. Drancy's C. Leuteritz had an excellent opportunity after 72 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! After 75 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by M. van Saenredam might have resulted in another goal for Drancy. However, N. Bansemer made a spectacular save. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Drancy, with 57 percent of the ball.

Drancy's top performer was clearly W. Jing Eng. M. Senghor turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Bouillancourt player was E. Zecchin. F. Baptista Gonçalves was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
