Due to an all-day shower, 17089 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Centre de Greffe du Foie. Grönholt, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Grimbergen put themselves up 2 - 0 when J. Kolendarić broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. Schönwetter squirmed through their central defence after 23 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. After 28 minutes Kayros's D. Vincent had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. G. Van Attenhoven came in to replace him. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Grimbergen's M. Grönholt increasing the lead to 4 - 0. 33 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as J. Schönwetter broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Grimbergen. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Grimbergen lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Kayros's G. Van Attenhoven was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 37 minutes. 5 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Grimbergen, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

M. Grönholt was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. I. Benak of Kayros received a yellow card after 73 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 76 minutes, É. Leclercq put Grimbergen ahead 6 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. Grimbergen's P. Azulay had an excellent opportunity after 83 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Grönholt from Grimbergen a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 86 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Grimbergen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

Grimbergen's top performer was clearly P. Azulay. É. Leclercq turned in a dismal performance, however. Kayros's best player was Q. Le Roux. However, G. Van Attenhoven made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 0.
