7388 spectators had come to Le Stade de ta défaite this cloudy day. Ottfried Gellhorn was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jan Hopman and Doron Kashtan. JJu had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Hansson - Faye, Haye, Guigon, Fuseau - Pilot, Lambert, Jeanjean, Ledroit - Carlier, Binetruy.

AkpOM started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Manso del Toro - Alimpijević, Kuciak, Tervo, Ojasalu - Basset, van Zomeren, Papa, Van Gaeveren - Kulla, Rossen.

AkpOM demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. E. Haye of JJu received a yellow card after 12 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. AkpOM's B. Ojasalu was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 31 minutes. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by JJu, with 51 percent of the ball.

The cannonball from 35 metres by É. Fuseau of JJu was an impressive sight, but didn't make it into the net. The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 63 minutes, but M. Hansson made a beautiful one-handed save. A lunatic dribble by V. Lambert, in front of his own keeper, set up AkpOM's N. Rossen for an embarrassingly easy strike after 72 minutes. 0 - 1! The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Guigon from JJu a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 85 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The home crowd was not impressed when N. Rossen came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 86 minutes. AkpOM were now up 0 - 2. The players of AkpOM now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

C. Binetruy performed admirably for JJu. On the other hand, F. Ledroit's play was disheartening. AkpOM's top performer was clearly S. Kulla. C. Papa on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 2.
