Hilgert was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 23 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 35 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave O. Hilgert a chance to increase the lead for Fatals, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Fatals lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 36 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as O. Hilgert finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. B. Leber of Fatals took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 41 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. Halftime score was 0 - 5. Fatals enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 84 percent of possession.

Some fine movement on the left led to a Fatals goal after 49 minutes, making it 0 - 6. W. Widmann was noted down as the scorer. With 60 minutes played, Fatals put themselves up 0 - 7 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was Y. Poort. Y. Clausse enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. With 76 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed C. Fantu of Fatals to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 8. Y. Poort increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 9. That made three goals for Y. Poort and he was marked down for the hat trick. Fatals claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.

Y. Clausse performed admirably for Montluçon1. However, M. Gosset made a disastrous appearance. Most important Fatals player was S. Pizarro. On the other hand, L. Ternisien's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 9.
