It had rained all day, but 27377 hardy fans still made it out to
Estádio Divino.
Edward MacEvoy was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Thom Hamster and
Claudio Piazza.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Divinos.
Starters: Pinto - Gneo, Dobre, Bolton - Almeida Moreira, Ruella, Remekselä, Remeloso, Costa Assunção - Zmasser, Beltrame.
Civil had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Maruschak - Karpenko, Bremeln, Bokhove - Maltez, Gandara, Drögenvorwerk, Orán, Obar - Cabrero, Behrendt.
It was an obvious ambition of Divinos to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Today, Civil's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Civil's
J. Cabrero was shown a yellow card after 24 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
With 25 minutes played, the visitors broke through on the right after some poor defending.
A. Bokhove put the ball away for 0 - 1.
The bicycle kick from
M. Maltez would have been the Goal of the Year for Civil, had it not hit the post.
It was obvious that Civil had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
The home crowd was not impressed when
P. Behrendt came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 31 minutes. Civil were now up 0 - 2.
Divinos were awarded a penalty 33 minutes into the match and

The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2.
Civil claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like
G. Orán.
It was a bad day for the usually speedy
R. Karpenko. The mud seemed to slow him down.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Divinos, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
78 minutes into the match, Divinos's
M. Zmasser collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 3.
83 minutes into the game, Civil worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Civil, with 52 percent of the ball.
Divinos's top performer was clearly
M. Zmasser.
G. Ruella was a disappointment, however.
Civil's best player was
M. Maltez.
However,
J. Cabrero made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 3.
