29802 spectators had come to ESTADIO New Eagle this cloudy day. Wilhelm Jeelof was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Vsevolod Zazulin and Rudolf Burkhardt. People from all over Lisboa had joined up for the derby. A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Salevido. Salevido used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Génios. Génios's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 7 minutes gone, but N. Demollari's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. Génios's D. Schacke had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 15 minutes having been played. J. García was the replacement. Génios almost scored after a swift counterattack 23 minutes into the game, but R. Omicini put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave N. Demollari from Génios a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 27 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Salevido were forced into a substitution as A. Sârbu couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing G. Stetzel to come in off the bench. 32 minutes into the game, a swerving free kick by T. Hallanaro almost resulted in the home team taking the lead, but the shot glanced harmlessly off the frame of the goal. Génios's F. Merino gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 33 minutes with a superb strike from the right. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Salevido, with 74 percent of the ball.

After 65 minutes, T. Hallanaro sent the corner kick right to O. Lusitano who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 1! At 66 minutes played, F. Sala came in from the right with the intention of giving Salevido the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. As the 80 minute mark approached, the Salevido coach decided it was time for a substitution. T. Hallanaro reluctantly made way for E. Cardoso on the pitch. The Salevido captaincy was handed to L. Pietrek. Making his way up the middle 80 minutes into the match, J. Zabdyr almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert G. Lehnherr blocked it to keep the score level. With the clock showing 81 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Génios resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by R. Benavent in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. A counterattack by Génios after 87 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but D. Luperi, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. Salevido's C. Carapuig was shown a yellow card after 88 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Salevido's F. Sobočan was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 89 minutes. Salevido had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.

Most important Salevido player was A. Eckstrand. On the other hand, A. Evgrafov's play was disheartening. Génios's top performer was clearly M. Muuronen. G. Lehnherr turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
