AC Milan 1 - 2 Águias
(386284686)

04-08-2012 22.00
The 24478 spectators at
Skartuk Stadium were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Tommi Kamula was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jørgen Heltborg and
Mats Hedlind.
AC Milan tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Barbudo - Lapeña Gómez, Parra, Duguid - Felhi, Pignitter, Téllez, Zdjeličan, Liekens - Ruffert, Sallustio.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Águias.
The following players had been chosen: Märstetter - Pourtau, Nogueira, Ruohtula - 順彪 (Shunbiao), Krynicki, Santos Abreu, Quintã, Alegria - Barros Sousa, Duarte.
AC Milan seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
Águias mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
Making his way up the middle 24 minutes into the match,
G. Sallustio almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
D. Märstetter blocked it to keep the score level.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
T. Nogueira should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting AC Milan a goal with 29 minutes of the match played.
AC Milan were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
AC Milan could have put themselves ahead after 36 minutes but
S. Pignitter missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to AC Milan, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
C. Alegria would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
J. Askenhult entered the game for Águias as the match clock showed 60 minutes.
The terraces were silenced after 60 minutes when Águias's
T. Nogueira put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right.
林. 順彪 (Shunbiao) received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 62 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Águias fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
By now, the players in Águias felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
AC Milan had a brilliant opportunity to reply as
G. Sallustio received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only
D. Märstetter's reflexes saved him.
A. Ruffert almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.
The home crowd were delighted when
A. Ruffert scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 1 - 2. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure!
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by AC Milan, with 54 percent of the ball.
Most important AC Milan player was
A. Téllez.
F. Duguid on the other hand, had a terrible day.
S. Barros Sousa performed admirably for Águias.
J. Askenhult was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 1 - 2.
