A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 33167 to
capital das vitorias.
Christoffer Bach was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Erik Karlsson and
Andrejs Tirss.
ritaline started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Starters: Scaramozzino - Neplech, Huijbers, Vallantyne - Miez, Trillo, Werpachowski, Schejbal, Bulder - Hudák, Shrubb.
Viper decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Nieddu - Pires Lopes, Mašanović, Ovyn, Riether - Costa Nascimento, Hofsteenge, Mohammad Sharifi, Huarte - Shmaryahu, Medeot.
With 4 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
W. Bulder flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
22 minutes in, ritaline appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
poor.
In a rapid move 29 minutes into the match,
R. Huarte of Viper lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
I. Shmaryahu who easily hit it home to make it 1 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
C. Hudák gave ritaline the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1
The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 38 minutes,
B. Medeot broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper.
M. Scaramozzino made a great block, though.
C. Hudák was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, ritaline's
A. Huijbers managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 3 - 1
At this point, it was obvious that the players of ritaline lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
C. Hudák could have put ritaline up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 42 minutes.
ritaline's
R. Schejbal had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 43 minutes having been played.
M. Passing was the replacement.
B. Medeot nearly reduced the lead 44 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by
M. Scaramozzino prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1.
ritaline had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
A review of the gameplan helped ritaline get back to a
passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in ritaline's
J. Trillo increasing the lead to 4 - 1.
61 minutes into the game, ritaline seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
inadequate level of organisation.
ritaline were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 67 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by
W. Bulder. 5 - 1 for the home side.
After 71 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
D. Werpachowski gave the ritaline supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 1.
After 73 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as ritaline found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
poor.
Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.
C. Hudák performed admirably for ritaline.
D. Werpachowski turned in a dismal performance, however.
Viper's best player was
A. Mohammad Sharifi.
However,
G. Nieddu made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 6 - 1.
