The crowd of 25584 turning up at
Estádio Olímpico de Monte D´Arcos today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain.
Heinz Hirß was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ernesto Gutiérrez and
David Kihlstedt.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Briosa.
They fielded: Patrono - Vieira, Oliveira Silva, Guerra Rodrigues - Esterhazy, Sidenskog, Rodrigues Sousa, Batista, Mertz - Dias Correia, Welling.
BULLETS tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Peretz - Sztucki, Bento, Del Fiori, 其淮 (Qihuai) - Altefähre, de Sousa, Conceição, Amjadi Naseh - Winogrodzki, Queirós.
Briosa broke through on the left 19 minutes into the game, with
L. Batista firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
Briosa put themselves up 2 - 0 when
K. Esterhazy broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
L. Dias Correia just fine.
Briosa increased the lead as
L. Dias Correia struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
The referee showed BULLETS's
A. Bento the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Briosa, with 66 percent of the ball.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Briosa scored another to make it 4 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
K. Welling after 47 minutes.
Briosa solidified their lead at the 52 minute mark, as
K. Welling dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0.
The players of Briosa now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
After 63 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
K. Welling might have resulted in another goal for Briosa. However,
B. Peretz made a spectacular save.
Cheers filled the stadium as
K. Welling broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to Briosa.
At that,
K. Welling was noted down for a hat trick!
76 minutes in, an amazing pass from the left side resulted in a goal for the visitors, as
P. de Sousa anticipated the through ball and scored, reducing the deficit to 6 - 1.
Briosa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 65 percent of possession.
Briosa's best player was
L. Dias Correia.
D. Mertz turned in a dismal performance, however.
BULLETS's top performer was clearly
A. Queirós.
On the other hand,
B. Peretz's play was disheartening.
The match ends 6 - 1.
