(386379461)

18-08-2012 22.30
Dark skies made the crowd of 11953 at
Nani Gandra Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Andrey Skorobogatov was the appointed referee.
Gandra tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Starters: Cerdeira - Gonçalves, Duarte, Basto, Melo - Mendes, Alvites, Leal Lopes, Fonseca - Cipriano, Basto Oliveira.
Ghosts decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Lineup: Monteiro Araújo - Caruma, Lavos, Guerra, Jorge - Frazoa, Lério, Ilyashov, Peixoto Silva - Gregório, Pereira Carvalho.
0 - 1 was the score with 2 minutes played, after
J. Pereira Carvalho cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Ghosts.
Ghosts increased their lead after 4 minutes when
I. Ilyashov broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay.
With 5 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
A. Frazoa of Ghosts to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
The players of Ghosts now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
J. Pereira Carvalho could have put his team up another goal 24 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
25 minutes into the match,
R. Lavos came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
Gandra had to make a substitution after 32 minutes.
A. Fonseca limped off the field and was replaced by
R. Pinheiro.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
J. Melo took over the role of being the Gandra captain.
0 - 3 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ghosts, with 67 percent of the ball.
54 minutes into the game, Ghosts worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
An amazing free kick flew past the home keeper 60 minutes into the match, putting Ghosts ahead 0 - 4.
M. Caruma was the scorer.
After 65 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
M. Caruma who increased Ghosts's lead to 0 - 5.
With 73 minutes played,
P. Mendes of Gandra fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
R. Lério would have put Ghosts up another goal 80 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
P. Mendes rendered him his second booking of the match, and Gandra had to finish the game with a reduced squad.
Ghosts claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 78 percent.
Gandra's best player was
T. Cipriano.
R. Pinheiro on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Ghosts's top performer was clearly
J. Pereira Carvalho.
J. Guerra turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 5.
