At this point, it was obvious that the players of Legiao lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. E. Bastos was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! 52 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as E. Bastos broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Legiao. A. Nogueira Santos of Legiao received a yellow card after 57 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Legiao to 5 - 0 as P. Gentil finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Coming from the right, A. Alexandre almost managed to score another goal for Legiao, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. A. Nogueira Santos could have increased the lead after 83 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. Legiao's E.
