Jim Daleng and
Christer Lindhbom.
The derby had been the talk of
Asunción all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Umbro.
Lineup: Maluff - Ribeiro, Falger, Calonne - Sosa, Davidkov, Henze, Avagliano - Bernal, Lewér, Canonici.
troncal4 tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
Starters: Naydenov - Balikin, Skobejkowicz, Garcifuentes - Luca, Ciupagea, Scorza, Roberti - Capozza, Paniagua, Mañan.
Umbro made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
T. Henze completely alone with keeper
L. Naydenov, who made a spectacular block.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
D. Bernal, but the Umbro player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
Y. Davidkov squirmed through their central defence after 29 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Umbro claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
With 59 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, troncal4 showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 2 - 1 when
C. Garcifuentes got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal.
70 minutes into the game troncal4 managed a counterattack, but
Z. Skobejkowicz took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
L. Naydenov was caught napping as
D. Lewér lifted a ball over him following a free kick, but the ball hit the bar, rebounding into the keeper's arms.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Umbro coach let
N. Fusillo replace
Y. Davidkov after 75 minutes.
D. Lewér wanted to play on, but the Umbro coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by
D. Ivanović.
D. Ivanović was handed the Umbro captain's armband.
Umbro enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
The most dominating Umbro player was without a doubt
T. Henze.
On the other hand,
S. Sosa's play was disheartening.
troncal4's top performer was clearly
R. Paniagua.
However,
L. Naydenov made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 1.
