previous 10/10 next 2/10  Eleven 5 - 0 Aurora (386866135)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 6281 that came out to Eleven Heroic. Adam Coupe was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lukas Schmachtenberger and Leonardo Desxpro. Eleven had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Napierala - van den Bergh, Sanjana, Al-Hammadi, Schröter - Denizer, Candido, Bilbao, Coeckelberghs - Meneses, Florín.

Aurora decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. They fielded: Guerrero - Chinchilla, Inti, Cortázar, Kromberg - Limachi, Taborga, Amaro, Barrenechea - Delgado, Campanella.

Many thought A. Al-Hammadi ought to have been awarded a penalty 22 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around A. Guerrero after a determined run through the middle. F. Bilbao received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 31 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Given a free kick close to the byline, Eleven tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let J. Coeckelberghs slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 32 minutes into the game. After 33 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Coeckelberghs gave the Eleven supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. Eleven increased the lead as F. Bilbao struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. After 35 minutes Aurora's J. Cortázar contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Halftime score was 3 - 0. Eleven enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.

E. Meneses could have increased the lead after 82 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 84 minutes into the match, S. Florín could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. Aurora had a fair chance to reply after 87 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end P. Inti was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Eleven to 4 - 0 as J. Candido finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. By now, the players in Eleven felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Eleven's S. Florín struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 5 - 0 after 88 minutes. Eleven had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

Most important Eleven player was J. Coeckelberghs. Y. van den Bergh on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Aurora player was without a doubt V. Barrenechea. However, A. Guerrero made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
