previous 7/10 next 9/10  Bamboozles 0 - 9 Cotchin (386973779)

Clear skies welcomed the 68252 spectators who had made their way to The Haven. Eric Schwardt was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Charles MacClure and Martin Oskarsson. Bamboozles had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Starters: Packer - Thain, Arnott - Mansour, Castiñeira, McDougall, Johncock, Fitzgibbon - Wran, Larkin, Ruhinda.

Cotchin started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. They fielded: Umar - Stehrenberger, Kodada - Enescu, O'Doherty, Russo, Madigan, Çığın - Craddock, Juva, Lie.

Cotchin decided to play creatively. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 2 minutes into the match left Cotchin's F. Kodada completely free to score. 0 - 1 for the visitors. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 3 minutes, Cotchin did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, T. Russo was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 2. F. Kodada of Cotchin took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 12 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Cotchin's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. After 22 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave O. Çığın a chance to increase the lead for Cotchin, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. After 24 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for D. Craddock who increased Cotchin's lead to 0 - 5. A drive down the left side allowed D. Craddock to get in close and score another goal for Cotchin after 34 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 6. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 6. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cotchin, with 72 percent of the ball.

L. Fitzgibbon of Bamboozles received a yellow card after 58 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. O. Madigan increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 7. The game was close to savage at times, and Bamboozles's L. Fitzgibbon received a second yellow card after 64 minutes; his ticket out of the game. Unfortunately for Cotchin, D. Craddock was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. K. Mülldorf replaced him. The visitors' R. Lie took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 69 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for Cotchin. Some fine movement on the left led to a Cotchin goal after 70 minutes, making it 0 - 9. I. Stehrenberger was noted down as the scorer. Cotchin had most of the ball, with 76 percent of possession.

A. Mansour performed admirably for Bamboozles. On the other hand, R. Thain's play was disheartening. Cotchin's best player was R. Lie. S. Juva was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 9.
