Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and St Andrews saw a crowd turnout of 61686. Ricardo Vale was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yuval Telem and Kjeld Christensen. Hewish took the lead 3 minutes in, as K. Čerbiks broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. L. Karam should probably have put his team up another goal after 26 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by C. Packer kept the visitors in the game. After 29 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Bamboozles found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Hewish scored another to make it 2 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for L. Karam after 30 minutes. 35 minutes in, Bamboozles appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. L. Karam squirmed through their central defence after 37 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Hewish to 4 - 0 as K. Čerbiks finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Hewish enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 80 percent of possession.

The Bamboozles players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. Cheers filled the stadium as K. Čerbiks broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to Hewish. By then K. Čerbiks had scored three goals - a hat trick! Confident in their lead, Hewish's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 65 minutes into the game, Bamboozles seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a passable level of organisation. Coming from the right, K. Čerbiks almost managed to score another goal for Hewish, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper. Hewish managed to extend their lead to 6 - 0 when A. Schreurs cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. 71 minutes into the game, Bamboozles seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to poor. With 77 minutes played, Hewish put themselves up 7 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to A. Schreurs, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. The referee showed Hewish's G. Gurgone the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 87 minutes, Hewish did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, R. Pattison was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 8 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Hewish, who controlled the ball 83 percent of the time.

Hewish's best player was A. Schreurs. On the other hand, G. Aletti's play was disheartening. Most important Bamboozles player was A. Castiñeira. R. McDougall turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 8 - 0.
