The crowd of 34303 turning up at Hop Eaters Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Wolf Heydtmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nicolae Tîltu and Laurent Kapitein. Eaters had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. team-doop tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: McKay - Carriazo, Taylor, Musumeci - Caprara, Vahap, Ruiz, Lukse, De Vriese - Mpousinakos, Oßmann.

team-doop were relying on their ability to counter-attack. After 23 minutes of play, L. Andres gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 38 minutes in, team-doop's J. Ruiz received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The home side's D. Begum came close to extending the lead 39 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but K. McKay managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. An equalising goal seemed certain after 42 minutes when N. Caprara attacked down the left wing, but N. Moeslund just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as team-doop's N. Caprara put the ball in the onion bag after 43 minutes to make it 1 - 1. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but V. Lukse showed great heart and had a good game. Eaters took the lead 44 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as J. Geddes elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Eaters's M. Elli left the field after 44 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was V. Cafferkey. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. team-doop enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

After 63 minutes, team-doop's A. De Vriese swiftly ran past J. Geddes and nutmegged the keeper! 2 - 2. Making his way up the middle 68 minutes into the match, K. Ingram almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert K. McKay blocked it to keep the score level. The home side put themselves ahead 3 - 2 after 69 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from G. Uinskis, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. The Eaters players could smell victory in the air. M. Molborg wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for X. Bayano after 71 minutes. After 71 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to team-doop's M. Taylor being carried off the pitch and replaced by B. Kaeo. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Musumeci from team-doop a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 85 minutes, Eaters were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. T. Mundakar did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Eaters, with 54 percent of the ball.

Eaters's best player was R. Carballeiro. T. Mundakar on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating team-doop player was without a doubt S. Oßmann. K. McKay was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 2.
