The 47999 fans in attendance at BEDROCK Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Otto Rozwalka was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Angel Penchev and Randy Senseman. Efforfred had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players had been chosen: Clerc - Vedder, Ovdijus, Wolfcastle, Nobbe, Dalsgård - Taylor, Szilágyi, Redondo, Uss - Asil.

Steffan decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Zecchino - Huysuz, Bøgebjerg, Liiv - Monzita, Trouillet, Tröster, Hainl, Mendonça - Davey, Krymskiy.

Steffan used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field. Efforfred's W. Uss was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - H. Asil managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 0 after 5 minutes. W. Uss should probably have put his team up another goal after 12 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by L. Zecchino kept the visitors in the game. An equalising goal seemed certain after 33 minutes when P. Trouillet attacked down the left wing, but F. Clerc just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. With 34 minutes gone, D. Szilágyi suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Efforfred caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. The referee showed Efforfred's K. Dalsgård the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The home side's J. Ovdijus came close to extending the lead 40 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but L. Zecchino managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. 1 - 0 was the halftime score. Efforfred had most of the ball, with 62 percent of possession.

Steffan pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Against a lesser team, Efforfred could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 65 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. With 68 minutes played, N. Huysuz of Steffan fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. W. Uss of Efforfred was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 81 minutes played, Efforfred put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to D. Szilágyi, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. B. Wolfcastle sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from H. Asil after 82 minutes of play, making the score 3 - 0. J. Nobbe's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. Efforfred enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

Most important Efforfred player was B. Taylor. H. Vedder was a disappointment, however. Steffan's best player was J. Tröster. O. Davey on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 0.
