previous 3/4 next 1/4  Kang 1 - 2 Knight (387051378)

33932 spectators had come to KangNam Arena this cloudy day. Bernard Končarević was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Wouter van Duin and Aljo Denjalić. Kang had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation. The following players took the field: Selzer - Han, Stosio, Han, Lee, Kwon - Rékasi, Newton, Falkblad, Filippin - Carabas.

Knight started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. They fielded: Choi - Kim, Swianiewicz, Park, Perronace - Hutinski, Rooselaar, Pihlell, Brecska, Kim - Patella.

Kang's J. Han tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. A penalty was given after 23 minutes, allowing the visitors to gain the lead: 0 - 1. S. Kim was the scorer. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Knight had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 55 minutes into the match, and S. Han was able to score, taking the scoreline to 1 - 1. A. Hutinski would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. T. Lee entered the game for Knight as the match clock showed 57 minutes. After 57 minutes Kang tried to exploit their counterattacking skills, unfortunately, A. Filippin's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. As the 60 minute mark approached, the Knight coach decided it was time for a substitution. D. Park reluctantly made way for D. Lee on the pitch. 60 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Knight substitution. H. Lee came on for S. Kim. D. Lee of Knight was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Knight made it 1 - 2 as T. Pihlell got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to D. Lee who whipped a low drive in off the far post. Possession in this half belonged to Knight, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Kang's best player was S. Han. On the other hand, D. Falkblad's play was disheartening. Most important Knight player was M. Patella. However, H. Lee made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 2.
