Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 47608 to
Scorton Rovers Arena.
Jur Dubbeldam was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Danilo Aloisi and
Harry Skelton.
Everyone was excited about the upcoming
Selangor derby and the crowd was divided evenly.
Scorton tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Rane - bin Rabin, Chun Chun, Luqmanul Hakim - Jian Choon, Voica, Parada, Beng Ah, Deuchar - bin Muhamad, Yi Kiong.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Sepang.
Lineup: De Bournonville - Gravić, Ahmadi - bin Wahab, Krefting, Amado, Behanzin Paoletti, Garrido - Lanchares, Bodinski, Coscia.
After a fine move down the middle
G. Chun Chun nearly gave the home side a goal after 3 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
13 minutes into the match, Sepang nearly took the lead, as
H. Ahmadi broke through on the right.
P. Rane made the save, however.
Always quick and a menace to his opponents,
L. Jian Choon was very close to getting through after 24 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms.
Sepang took the lead after 29 minutes making the score 0 - 1.
O. Amado placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Due to some great work on the right wing Scorton's
S. Voica was able to even the score after 35 minutes to make the score 1 - 1.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Scorton claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.
69 minutes in, Scorton's
T. Yi Kiong received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
G. Chun Chun scored for Scorton putting them ahead 2 - 1, after 70 minutes.
H. Ahmadi tied the game at 2 - 2 after 72 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right.
H. Ariff was called on to replace Scorton's
P. Rane after 78 minutes following a nasty collision.
After 82 minutes, Scorton were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
M. bin Muhamad did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
Scorton enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
Most important Scorton player was
S. Voica.
H. Luqmanul Hakim was a disappointment, however.
Sepang's top performer was clearly
E. Coscia.
However,
L. De Bournonville made a disastrous appearance.
