The 12000 fans in attendance at
FC ALAY ARENA were roasting in the hot sun.
Anton Tögel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bjarke Jensen and
Lukas Pinkernell.
All of
Bishkek was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
ALAY decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
They fielded: Doorbekev - Shamanin, Ruzaev, Elmar Uulu, Bayniazov - Zamirov, Shiryaev, Kubat Uulu, Syrkov - Zalkar Uulu, Saydanov.
A 5-2-3 alignment was the formation of choice for MANAS.
Lineup: Poslušný - Gaciu, Fernán García, Dedu, Lima, Dyhr - Macchini, Mojani - De Felice, Clauwaerts, Pascher.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for MANAS.
J. Doorbekev looked great 24 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
J. Pascher.
The visiting
J. Pascher was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 30 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
The sun seemed to put
V. Syrkov in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
After 41 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by MANAS on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by
P. Mojani to make it 0 - 2.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2.
ALAY claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
The visitors'
M. De Felice took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 55 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for MANAS.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of MANAS lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
A. Elmar Uulu should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting MANAS a goal with 64 minutes of the match played.
The sunny day didn't make things easy for
M. Gaciu who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch.
ALAY's
V. Syrkov refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 71 minutes.
73 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as
J. Pascher finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick.
A superb free kick by ALAY's
B. Shamanin after 74 minutes looked like it'd reduced the lead after it hit the underside of the bar and bounced down over the line, but to the fury of the home crowd the linesman missed it - no goal!
Possession in this half belonged to MANAS, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
Most important ALAY player was
B. Shamanin.
On the other hand,
J. Doorbekev's play was disheartening.
The most dominating MANAS player was without a doubt
P. Clauwaerts.
D. Dyhr on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 4.
