Dark skies made the crowd of 55650 at Old Trafford a little nervous, but the rain held off. Rolf Hamburger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Edward Langenreem and Heino Derbsch. MU started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Kubiesa - Kryszał, Eisenhut, Truelsen - Koryak, Minke, Emborg, Rediger, Dzhaksibaev - Ciuffi, Troelsen.

Blinkmaster had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Maaravi - Uzeel, Pohjankoski, Stacewicz - Badrak, Chekodanov, Stecher, Battaglini, Cardona - Gardil, Sogot Uulu.

It was an obvious ambition of MU to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. Blinkmaster's M. Stacewicz gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 10 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Always quick and a menace to his opponents, A. Koryak was very close to getting through after 33 minutes, but he could only put the ball into the keeper's arms. Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for MU, but J. Emborg's shot went over the bar. J. Gardil was, after 36 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper F. Kubiesa made the save. MU's R. Truelsen made a successful breakthrough on the left after 41 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. MU had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

After 46 minutes, Blinkmaster felt secure enough to make a tactical change. N. Cardona and B. Badrak assumed each others positions on the field. 75 minutes into the game, J. Emborg came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. MU claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

MU's top performer was clearly C. Ciuffi. R. Truelsen on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Blinkmaster player was without a doubt B. Chekodanov. A. Uzeel was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
