(387281377)

08-07-2012 09.00
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 41929 to
Zavka Arena.
Milton Agudelo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tor Hansen and
Jamie McGealy.
Zavka tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Mutu - Ferlay, Heene, Akpakoun - Pastoors, Ingenito, Mallo, Ernsberger, Charino - Montenay, Bentivegna.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Świstaki.
Lineup: Marques - Clérigo, Olivar, Szmytka - Özaltın, Scagliarini, Dobosiewicz, Boineau - Popovici, Zagożdżon, Granado.
Zavka displayed their ability to play creatively.
Zavka created a good opportunity to score 8 minutes into the match when
N. Pastoors's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball.
Świstaki took the lead 23 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle.
K. Zagożdżon was the scorer.
37 minutes into the match, Świstaki's
A. Granado demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
D. Popovici who chipped it in for 0 - 2.
By now, the players in Świstaki felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
A. Charino almost reduced the deficit, having drawn the entire left side defence away, but the shot went straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.
0 - 2 was the halftime score.
Zavka claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 58 percent.
Zavka's
A. Charino got himself booked for a foul.
A. Granado came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
C. Mutu but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
After 85 minutes,
J. Ferlay sent the corner kick right to
G. Akpakoun who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 2!
Given a free kick close to the byline, Zavka tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
O. Bentivegna slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 2, 86 minutes into the game.
A. Charino of Zavka was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish
L. Clérigo, which resulted in a goal making the score 3 - 2.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Zavka, with 61 percent of the ball.
Most important Zavka player was
F. Mallo.
A. Charino was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Świstaki player was without a doubt
A. Granado.
However,
L. Clérigo made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 2.
