The 50006 spectators at Lumumbowo Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Émile Calon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Manolo Herráez and Murat Kartal. OTK clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. The sun seemed to put M. Yonev in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. OTK almost scored after a counterattack 20 minutes into the match, but V. Pană took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. 24 minutes into the match, the speedy M. Moszczyński easily outpaced V. Pană, chipped the keeper and made the score 1 - 0. A great save by keeper J. Ribeiro after 27 minutes kept the visitors in the game after M. Moszczyński struck from the left with a real cannonball. J. Julien could have increased the lead after 34 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. A counterattack by OTK after 35 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but M. Hanczakowski, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. There was concern in the stands when, at the 36 minute mark, OTK's K. Hemmingsen hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. Lumumbowo managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when M. Yonev cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Lumumbowo, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

What ever got into M. Hanczakowski, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of Lumumbowo's J. Julien, who easily put the ball away for 3 - 0 after 48 minutes. After this, you could see that the players of Lumumbowo were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The visitors got a chance to pulling one back after 58 minutes, due to a defensive blunder leaving M. Hanczakowski completely unmarked. His strike was pathetic though, easy prey for the home side's keeper. Lumumbowo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

Lumumbowo's best player was M. Yonev. On the other hand, A. Borkowski's play was disheartening. E. Zelmański performed admirably for OTK. K. Hemmingsen turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
