The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 38561 had shown up at
WIKTORIA ARENA for the match.
Luis Ríos was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Wieger Kestens and
Daniel Brown.
Tatanki started off with a 2-5-3 lineup.
Starters: Księżarczyk - Jarczak, Merimi - Mosurek, Gimiński, Zaugg, Venn, Nærland - Rybus, Adamiec, Karamon.
PGFC tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Chizzola - Andersson, Kułaczkowski, Zaloudek - Heetla, Estalrich, Stančević, Delabarre, Mangle - Jodłowiec, Queen.
It was an obvious ambition of PGFC to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of PGFC's
B. Stančević after 5 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead.
After 26 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
M. Queen a chance to increase the lead for PGFC, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
Tatanki's
E. Karamon cut towards the middle after 29 minutes, receiving a brilliant pass and slicing through the visiting team's central defence, reducing the lead to 1 - 2.
B. Andersson of PGFC took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 31 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 3.
The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when
L. Rybus tried to sneak the ball past the keeper.
O. Chizzola was too alert for that!
1 - 3 was the score after the first half.
Tatanki enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
After 56 minutes,
R. Mangle sprinted between the opposing defenders and squared the ball, but the keeper deflected
M. Jodłowiec's shot.
J. Nærland has acquired a talent for predicting the movements of the opposing defence over the years and this almost resulted in a goal 60 minutes into the match.
It took several tries, but Tatanki managed to break through on the left after 66 minutes, getting the ball to
L. Rybus who easily reduced the lead to make the score 2 - 3.
It was obvious that PGFC had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
B. Stančević increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 2 - 4.
Tatanki's
T. Zaugg got himself booked for a foul.
Tatanki's
T. Zaugg got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 3 - 4.
H. Venn of Tatanki was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Tatanki, with 53 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Tatanki player was without a doubt
C. Jarczak.
On the other hand,
T. Zaugg's play was disheartening.
Most important PGFC player was
M. Queen.
However,
O. Chizzola made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 3 - 4.
