32451 punters turned up at
Asfalt koło Bursy, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Mattias Eneen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tim P. Hagel and
Wender Schuurs.
Patałachy decided to use a 4-5-1 set up.
The following players took the field: Bombik - Rompca, Fic, Gawin, Syta - Syrek, Piekarz, Kiela, Stefanko, Spławski - Kieda.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Marionety.
Lineup: Ascoeta - Tremser, Bansa, Latin - Machado, Desmettre, Apostolescu, López, Saldaño - Angemi, Klintland.
9 minutes into the game,
M. Machado almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar.
Slack defending gave Patałachy a chance to take the lead with 13 minutes played, but
T. Kieda's cross from the left flank was fumbled in front of the goal and easily dealt with by the opposition.
22 minutes in, Patałachy's
T. Kieda received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 35 minutes allowed
R. Klintland to score for Marionety. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1.
The referee showed Marionety's
I. López the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
It was 0 - 1 at the break.
Marionety had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.
M. Machado's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 57 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to
R. Klintland who knocked it in for Marionety. 0 - 2!
By now, the players in Marionety felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Patałachy's
M. Stefanko managed a superb strike from the left after 59 minutes that would have left goalkeeper
L. Ascoeta without a chance, had it not hit the post.
The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when
S. Spławski tried to sneak the ball past the keeper.
L. Ascoeta was too alert for that!
70 minutes into the game,
S. Spławski had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
W. Badaczewski.
E. Gawin was handed the Patałachy captain's armband.
A. Szpendowski was called on to replace Patałachy's
B. Syrek after 80 minutes following a nasty collision.
82 minutes into the match,
O. Bansa came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
With 83 minutes played,
M. Stefanko of Patałachy fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Marionety claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.
A. Syta performed admirably for Patałachy.
A. Szpendowski turned in a dismal performance, however.
Marionety's best player was
A. Angemi.
D. Saldaño was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
