A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 29328 to Galakticos Arena. Víctor Barruso was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Erko Kivistik and Arkadiusz Ćwioro. With 25 minutes played K. Lazos almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. In a rapid move 35 minutes into the match, J. Puciłowski of Derby lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked A. Porto who easily hit it home to make it 0 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! Radłowo put pressure on the visitors' central defence 36 minutes into the game, but K. Lazos couldn't find an opening. Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile N. Blatter. 42 minutes into the game, N. Blatter came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Radłowo, with 61 percent of the ball.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Derby coach let 憲. 古屋 (Furuya) replace A. Porto after 60 minutes. The bench was restless, and with 60 minutes passed Radłowo's coach gave M. Duliban the opportunity the player had been hoping for. B. Ifrim reluctantly left the field. The intense heat forced J. Jonassen was shown a yellow card after 86 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The player down was B. Kluczyński. The Derby bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. Radłowo's N. Van Bockstael found himself alone on the left side 89 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper! Radłowo's K. Friedenstal got himself booked for a foul. Possession in this half belonged to Radłowo, who controlled the ball 64 percent of the time.

K. Friedenstal performed admirably for Radłowo. On the other hand, B. Carrado's play was disheartening. The most dominating Derby player was without a doubt L. Cruz. J. Puciłowski turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
