previous 10/10 next 2/10  Szczytnica 2 - 1 BKS (387322888)

23292 spectators had come to Szczytnicka Łąka koło torów kolejowych this cloudy day. Thorsten Gogl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jesús Rubio and Willfried Kreiensen. Szczytnica had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Fontinha - Pauna, Guérin, Hoecker - Neiderich, Iwańczuk, Holesz, Dudkowski, Snowdon - Zakreševskis, Żabnicki.

BKS started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Remus - Kwieciński, Antužis, Maffei - Aleksandrowicz, Lehman, Skarbek, Koszyk, Berger - Drews, Kamedovich.

BKS had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 7 minutes in when M. Koszyk came up alone against I. Fontinha who managed a block. Szczytnica took the lead 15 minutes in, as E. Neiderich broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. With 31 minutes played, M. Kamedovich came in from the right and could have evened the score, but the defenders successfully repelled the attack by BKS. 34 minutes into the game BKS's M. Koszyk found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. J. Pauna of Szczytnica received a yellow card after 37 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Szczytnica, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

BKS's I. Kwieciński was shown a yellow card after 52 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Szczytnica's P. Snowdon tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. With 60 minutes played, S. Skarbek of BKS fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Szczytnica took the lead 63 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as P. Snowdon elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. BKS's P. Maffei was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 66 minutes. Szczytnica had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

Szczytnica's best player was T. Zakreševskis. P. Snowdon was a disappointment, however. The most dominating BKS player was without a doubt D. Lehman. However, J. Remus made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 1.
