(387335148)

22-07-2012 09.00
The 36780 fans in attendance at
Matus Arena were roasting in the hot sun.
Nichlas Söderstål was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Christophe Gantier and
Thije Bijker.
Mikropolus started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Verdonk - Tūtlys, Rakociński, Wańkowicz - Tujaka, Polok, Landvoogd, Medina, Proszowski - Wołkowicz, Wolna.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Devils.
Starters: Lobo Heras - Žmahar, Prokop, Chay - Gaspar, Zalaya, Pursey, Vernhet, Nahapetyan - Nikonenko, Wäffler.
Today, Mikropolus's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
The wings were the focus of most of Devils's attacks today.
W. Wolna caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 29 minutes. This gave Mikropolus the 1 - 0 lead.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
D. Landvoogd squirmed through their central defence after 33 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
35 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
A. Tūtlys broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Mikropolus.
38 minutes in, Mikropolus's
D. Landvoogd received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Mikropolus's
M. Wańkowicz had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 39 minutes having been played.
U. Wikström was the replacement.
Cheers filled the stadium as
U. Wikström broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Mikropolus.
After this, you could see that the players of Mikropolus were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Mikropolus's
W. Wołkowicz increasing the lead to 5 - 0.
5 - 0 was the halftime score.
Mikropolus enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
A great save by keeper
J. Lobo Heras after 71 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
I. Rakociński struck from the left with a real cannonball.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Mikropolus coach let
L. Soczek replace
D. Landvoogd after 74 minutes.
Mikropolus were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings.
Mikropolus managed to extend their lead to 6 - 0 when
W. Wolna cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why
W. Wolna found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
S. Tujaka from Mikropolus a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 83 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
I. Rakociński almost put Mikropolus ahead another goal when he curled a free kick over the defensive wall and almost into the net, but the visitors' keeper got there just in time to knock it wide.
Mikropolus had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
Mikropolus's top performer was clearly
W. Wolna.
T. Verdonk turned in a dismal performance, however.
Devils's best player was
R. Zalaya.
J. Lobo Heras was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 6 - 0.
