The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 40560 had shown up at
Final Fantasy VII Arena for the match.
Bernal Coronado was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fernandinho Baretto and
Diogo Anacleto.
Final... had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Jakimów - Pancer, Iñiguez - Marin, Bohdanowicz, Beljean, Baraniak, Beaujouan - Tyranowski, Dryjer, Arnhard.
intermed tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Fitero - Cartagena, Arcais, Nedellec - Jamnig, Vén, Gil de Borja, Raninger, Mancosu - Silver, Micielski.
Final... saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
After 17 minutes, intermed put themselves up 0 - 1, as
K. Micielski finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
N. Cartagena of intermed was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Final...'s
O. Beaujouan left the field after 35 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
M. Przybylak.
intermed increased their lead after 36 minutes when
C. Gil de Borja broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay.
The players of intermed now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
intermed's
M. Jamnig made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 38 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
D. Arnhard from Final... a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 39 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
It was 0 - 2 at the break.
intermed had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
Encouraged by their lead, after 60 minutes the intermed coach asked
M. Nedellec to change positions with
N. Cartagena.
intermed's
M. Nedellec got himself booked for a foul.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Final...'s
Z. Bohdanowicz was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 75 minutes.
K. Skurczyński was given a chance to change things around.
Final...'s
R. Baraniak refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 82 minutes.
With 85 minutes played, the Final... coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
C. Salamaga came on,
K. Dryjer had to leave the fray.
intermed claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
Final...'s best player was
J. Marin.
S. Jakimów was a disappointment, however.
intermed's top performer was clearly
M. Jamnig.
A. Fitero turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
