(387357330)

22-07-2012 09.00
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 24458 had shown up at
WIKTORYNKA for the match.
Francesco Magistris was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Per Karlsson and
Turi Hodler.
The derby had been the talk of
Kujawsko-Pomorskie all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Al Akh had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: van Aerden - Ogonowski, Braet, van Campenhout - Geilhausen, Ryncarz, Stygar, Kępczyński, Surowski - Bolland, Bingen.
Pomorzanie tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Vargas - Halliday, Laure, Goerges - Dziechciarz, Vansteelandt, Artuk, Odorizzi - Bilato, Micciani, Strømstad.
Pomorzanie clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
With 3 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as
W. Braet flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 9 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when
A. Strømstad tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper.
Al Akh managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when
B. van Campenhout cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
After 24 minutes,
F. Bolland sent the corner kick right to
B. van Campenhout who headed it sharply past the keeper. 3 - 0!
The players of Al Akh now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Al Akh solidified their lead at the 39 minute mark, as
W. Braet dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0.
Al Akh's
P. Ryncarz saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 42 minutes.
It was 4 - 0 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to Al Akh, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
50 minutes into the match, Pomorzanie replied and reduced the lead to 4 - 1.
D. Micciani scored on a marvellous cross pass coming in from the left.
It was obvious that team Pomorzanie had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
Al Akh's
S. Bingen swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
With the clock showing 82 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Pomorzanie resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by
V. Vansteelandt in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Al Akh scored another to make it 5 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
F. Bolland after 86 minutes.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Al Akh, with 60 percent of the ball.
Al Akh's best player was
S. Bingen.
L. Ogonowski was a disappointment, however.
Pomorzanie's top performer was clearly
V. Vansteelandt.
A. Bilato turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
