18200 spectators had found their way to Graudenz Arena, despite the heavy rain. Roger Forsborg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sérgio Caldeira and Géza Arnold. Nadgórniaki saw most attack opportunities on the wings. The strategy for Kilroy was to use their ability to press. Kilroy's P. Nævdal managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 7 minutes. 0 - 1. B. Galbarruli was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Nadgórniaki with a strike from the left, but L. Kärrquist managed to ward the shot off for a corner. 22 minutes into the game, V. Anisie had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came V. Vergani. Ľ. Nepoviem was struggling to make the ball dance with his usual trickery and panache, and the opposing players had little trouble shutting him down in these muddy conditions. Kilroy had to make a substitution after 29 minutes. T. Assinger limped off the field and was replaced by A. Kaźmierowski. C. Afer was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by H. Kerkelä, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. The referee showed Kilroy's R. Grasza the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 35 minutes in, and Nadgórniaki were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when F. Bartodziej picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. The goal to make it 1 - 2 was scored by M. Agulló after 38 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Kilroy. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Nadgórniaki, with 54 percent of the ball.

Kilroy pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Nadgórniaki's S. Trochet was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 64 minutes. U. Wegele was given a chance to change things around. Nadgórniaki needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 64 minutes F. Bartodziej made way for M. Radzimowski. The pressing tactics used by Kilroy were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. R. Grasza knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the Kilroy player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. Nadgórniaki were close to equalising with a spectacular free kick by M. Oh after 73 minutes, but L. Kärrquist made a great save, tipping it to a corner. M. Agulló received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 76 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Kilroy fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. By now, the players in Kilroy felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Nadgórniaki's U. Wegele got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 2 - 3. 79 minutes in, Kilroy's R. Fevereiro received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Players in Nadgórniaki heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 81 minutes into the match, an alert U. Wegele bagged the ball for Nadgórniaki, levelling the score to 3 - 3. Nadgórniaki had most of the ball, with 58 percent of possession.

H. Kerkelä performed admirably for Nadgórniaki. M. Narkis turned in a dismal performance, however. Kilroy's top performer was clearly I. Neacşu. On the other hand, A. Kaźmierowski's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 3.
