18070 fans braved the pouring rain at Arena Poznań. René Koscielski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hans Hubert Pittner and Heiko Nährich. KKS decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. The wings were the focus of most of DEFEKT's attacks today. 3 minutes into the game, J. Bajo Fernández almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. It wasn't a pretty goal, but the free kick by L. Séné after 25 minutes somehow found its way past the keeper. KKS takes the lead, 1 - 0! J. Sulin of DEFEKT was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 32 minutes played, J. Karstadt could have brought this one home for KKS as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, V. Tilimpea got himself booked. The manager of DEFEKT was not happy. After 34 minutes DEFEKT's A. Mutsch contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. 35 minutes in, KKS appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. L. Séné was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. 43 minutes into the game, KKS seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organisation. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by KKS, with 53 percent of the ball.

A review of the gameplan helped KKS get back to a passable organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. J. Bajo Fernández was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! The bench was restless, and with 67 minutes passed DEFEKT's coach gave O. Garben the opportunity the player had been hoping for. J. Sulin reluctantly left the field. 70 minutes into the game, KKS had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. DEFEKT levelled the score after 79 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as L. Kiberl struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. After the game, the most discussed event will probably be the penalty given after 81 minutes that gave the visitors the 1 - 2 lead. Despite the controversy, S. Brucato struck home the penalty, as cool as anything. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

The most dominating KKS player was without a doubt S. Agustín Fonfría. C. Gómez de la Torre on the other hand, had a terrible day. DEFEKT's best player was J. Bajo Fernández. R. Karasek turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
