29-07-2012 10.30
18942 spectators had come to
New Age Arena this cloudy day.
Rune Skogbo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Espen Frank Jensen and
Jani Miestamo.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Siemiatycze.
The following players had been chosen: de Paula - Lagos, Sacharczuk, Carabalí, Południak - Pisiewicz, Magnoni, Kościański, Lindolfo, Kessler - Moreira.
Orzel decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Totland - Fromista, Lászlai, Boiangiu - Ciuntu, Cabaj, Dragomir, Orteu, Karolak - Mąsior, Cedro.
Siemiatycze were relying on their ability to counter-attack.
Today, Orzel's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
With 11 minutes played, Orzel's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
E. Cabaj he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 1.
After 16 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
A. Karolak to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2.
After 26 minutes,
M. Lindolfo had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Siemiatycze with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar.
Orzel increased their lead after 28 minutes when
E. Cabaj broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Siemiatycze's
M. Pisiewicz was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
It was 0 - 3 at the break.
Orzel claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
47 minutes into the game, Siemiatycze's
W. Kościański surprised the visitors with a raking cross-field pass to
R. Moreira who easily found the back of the net, making the score 1 - 3.
W. Kościański tried to get a goal back for Siemiatycze but despite all his hard work down the right, he just couldn't complete the move.
The home crowd was not impressed when
W. Mąsior came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 67 minutes. Orzel were now up 1 - 4.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Orzel lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
T. Totland wanted to play on, but the Orzel coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by
J. Ślusarczyk.
The Orzel players could smell victory in the air.
W. Cedro wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
M. Cieszkowski after 75 minutes.
T. de Paula got a fingertip on
T. Boiangiu's shot from the left 78 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal.
The referee showed Orzel's
È. Orteu the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Orzel coach let
R. Stańco replace
W. Mąsior after 85 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to Siemiatycze, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
The most dominating Siemiatycze player was without a doubt
M. Lindolfo.
M. Pisiewicz was a disappointment, however.
Orzel's top performer was clearly
S. Dragomir.
However,
J. Ślusarczyk made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 1 - 4.
