21200 punters turned up at Smardzew Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Iskierka tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Iskierka will have to do without H. Vogg for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 6 minute mark. He was substituted by L. Bilro. Iskierka's goal to make the score 0 - 1 came via a questionable penalty, but L. Ośkiewicz struck it home without a second thought. J. Litschauer was called on to replace Iskierka's A. Bausa after 14 minutes following a nasty collision. After 20 minutes, Iskierka's M. Magriñà burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. smardzew claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, smardzew's D. Miguelete was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 46 minutes. M. Stagliano was given a chance to change things around. smardzew supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to M. Bäckbom who reduced the visitors' lead after 57 minutes to 1 - 2. smardzew needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 59 minutes P. Chazarreta made way for Y. Foé. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 63 minutes into the match, an alert L. Novais bagged the ball for smardzew, levelling the score to 2 - 2. The visiting H. Costache was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 69 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. Iskierka's M. Magriñà got himself booked for a foul. L. Novais showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 82 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 3 - 3 equaliser away. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 83 minutes allowed S. Cerboneschi to score for Iskierka. The scoreboard now read 3 - 4. R. Neštický of smardzew was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 87 minutes into the match, and H. Vadstrup was able to score, taking the scoreline to 4 - 4. R. Neštický knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the smardzew player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. smardzew had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

smardzew's top performer was clearly M. Stagliano. M. Howland turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Iskierka player was R. Peña Rubia. However, L. Bilro made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 4.
