(387404154)

29-07-2012 10.30
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 20428 to
EJSMOND PARK.
Michał Siekierzyński was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fausto Anfuffo and
Wolfgang Straub.
Roman decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Almaraz - Wodecki, Parlapiano, Quiñones - Tuomisalo, Patyk, Marqués, Lenske - Holderied, Azzone, Wasyl.
Warriors tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Kilar - Burcon, Springer, Nieszporek, Sypko - Hartwig, Korniluk, Dziubiński, Czepiel - Adamczyk, Żychowicz.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
G. Parlapiano, but the Roman player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
J. Quiñones from Roman a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 7 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 9 minutes, Roman did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
O. Azzone was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 0.
Cheers filled the stadium as
G. Parlapiano broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Roman.
Roman increased the lead as
R. Wodecki struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
After this, you could see that the players of Roman were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After 25 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
G. Parlapiano gave the Roman supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 5 - 0.
By then
G. Parlapiano had scored three goals - a hat trick!
5 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Roman had most of the ball, with 87 percent of possession.
What ever got into
W. Springer, the crowd mumbled, as he suddenly struck a cross pass through his own defence - ending up right in front of Roman's
Y. Lenske, who easily put the ball away for 6 - 0 after 54 minutes.
With 62 minutes played, Roman put themselves up 7 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
B. Patyk, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Roman's
R. Holderied increased the lead to 8 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 65 minutes.
Roman solidified their lead at the 70 minute mark, as
R. Holderied dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 9 - 0.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Roman scored another to make it 10 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
G. Parlapiano after 78 minutes.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
F. Marqués squirmed through their central defence after 81 minutes, increasing the lead to 11 - 0.
The game was close to savage at times, and Roman's
J. Quiñones received a second yellow card after 82 minutes; his ticket out of the game.
A. Dziubiński of Warriors had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
I. Chrust came in to finish the match.
Roman claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 83 percent.
The most dominating Roman player was without a doubt
F. Marqués.
R. Holderied on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Warriors player was
I. Chrust.
R. Sypko was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 11 - 0.
