20437 fans braved the pouring rain at Kufel Arena. Viktor Crameri was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Giuseppe Faraglia and Carlos Aldunate. Kufel had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Val - Mazilu, Ducoli, Muracki - Bytsenko, Schwesinger, Karolczyk, Kaczyński - Musialik, Carlen, Erkoç.

DUNAJEC tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Nafría - Kuribak, Dogoda, Bicki, Nakip - Korkmaz, Gawarkiewicz, Errazuriz, Polak - Zajk, Fouillioux.

Kufel used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. DUNAJEC were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Down the middle came J. Errazuriz, making a fantastic play that nearly had DUNAJEC take the lead after 20 minutes, but L. Val preserved the tie. Z. Muracki received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 21 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. The terraces were silenced after 28 minutes when DUNAJEC's A. Zajk put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. 34 minutes in, and Kufel were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when S. Musialik picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave S. Musialik from Kufel a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! DUNAJEC took the lead after 40 minutes making the score 1 - 2. F. Bicki placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. M. Schwesinger showed the skills that make him a real crowd pleaser as he, after 41 minutes, wove through the guests' entire central defence and put the 2 - 2 equaliser away. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to DUNAJEC, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

Z. Muracki was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! With 51 minutes gone, DUNAJEC had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, A. Zajk did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. 56 minutes into the game, F. Kaczyński had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came E. İzzətli. S. Musialik was the new captain of Kufel - handed the armband by the departing player. After 65 minutes Kufel's B. Karolczyk contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. After 69 minutes, DUNAJEC put themselves up 2 - 3, as A. Zajk finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 73 minutes played, A. Erkoç of Kufel made the score 3 - 3. Kufel had a chance to take the lead after E. İzzətli's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 77 minutes. DUNAJEC's F. Bicki gave the visitors a 3 - 4 lead after 78 minutes with a superb strike from the right. Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Kufel's E. İzzətli somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for A. Erkoç, who struck for 4 - 4. DUNAJEC's goal to make the score 4 - 5 came via a questionable penalty, but J. Fouillioux struck it home without a second thought. A. Gawarkiewicz of DUNAJEC received a yellow card after 81 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

Kufel's top performer was clearly T. Carlen. R. Mazilu turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important DUNAJEC player was A. Zajk. A. Nafría was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 5.
