previous 8/10 next 10/10  Fire 5 - 0 Rabaki (387423958)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Fire Arena saw a crowd turnout of 10018. Ignasi Gost was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gidi Harel and Juho Saarnio. Fire decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Bochno - Herdzik, Krzyżyk, Flask - Dziekan, Machel, John, Kozicz, Kosut - Globisz, Brito Carvalho.

Rabaki started off with a 4-3-3 lineup. Lineup: Maksim - Weiß, Gergov, Abbati, Carassa - Rabi, Mięsok, Guix - Ozdowski, Asselineau, Lindling.

Fire tried to focus their attacks down the middle. With 5 minutes played B. Kozicz almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. After some beautiful movement down the left wing, R. Dziekan scored for Fire putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 20 minutes. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. B. Kozicz squirmed through their central defence after 21 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. 24 minutes into the game, M. Mięsok had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came L. Stranders. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Fire had most of the ball, with 61 percent of possession.

A counterattack by Rabaki after 60 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but M. Lindling, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off. It was obvious that team Fire had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Fire's W. Globisz saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 63 minutes. Rabaki's N. Carassa left the field after 64 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was H. Koss. Given a free kick close to the byline, Fire tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let R. John slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 0, 71 minutes into the game. Confident in their lead, Fire's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. A. Brito Carvalho increased the lead for Fire to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! 82 minutes in, Fire's R. Dziekan received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Fire's S. Krzyżyk increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 86 minutes. Fire enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.

B. Kozicz performed admirably for Fire. On the other hand, S. Machel's play was disheartening. Rabaki's best player was R. Ozdowski. Z. Maksim was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
