The 25869 fans in attendance at ERGO Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Merijn van der Hoeven was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Daniel Larsson and Jordão Mocidade. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Warmińsko-Mazurskie derby and the crowd was divided evenly. -----PiT----- started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Jadczyk - Halin, Eikauskas, Palsio - Schreier, Allaert, van der Leek, Fernández de la Cruz, Palming - Binkiewicz, Kanicki.

Fire decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Bochno - Herdzik, Krzyżyk, Flask - Dziekan, Machel, John, Kozicz, Kosut - Globisz, Brito Carvalho.

-----PiT----- used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Fire clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. -----PiT----- were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. After a fine move down the middle A. Eikauskas nearly gave the home side a goal after 13 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. -----PiT-----'s Z. Binkiewicz tried to break through in the middle repeatedly, but couldn't get past the visitors' defenders. -----PiT----- were very close to putting themselves one up after 38 minutes as A. Kanicki got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. 40 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for -----PiT----- was C. Halin. Fire's A. Brito Carvalho was shown a yellow card after 41 minutes for slicing down an opponent. -----PiT-----'s C. Halin increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 42 minutes. Halftime score was 2 - 0. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

Central attacks were the recipe of the day for -----PiT-----, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity. Z. Binkiewicz could have increased the lead after 54 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. The unexpected cross pass from -----PiT-----'s P. Palming after 76 minutes opened up the defence and was received by A. Kanicki who finished off for 3 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of -----PiT----- lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The coach of -----PiT----- was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 85 minutes, K. Moc came on for A. Kanicki. It was obvious that team -----PiT----- had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. The sunny day didn't make things easy for Z. Binkiewicz who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. -----PiT----- put in a good effort on the right, but Z. Binkiewicz saw his volley fly wide of the mark 89 minutes into the game. K. Moc unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. M. Herdzik of Fire was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. -----PiT----- enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

F. Allaert performed admirably for -----PiT-----. However, B. Jadczyk made a disastrous appearance. Fire's best player was B. Kozicz. S. Machel on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 3 - 0.
