However the finishing shot went just wide. 13 minutes in, Krotoszyn appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only solid. 21 minutes into the game, G. Geidulis almost gave the visitors the lead, as he clipped a delicate lob over the keeper, but the ball glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. G. Geidulis of Petrobras seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by S. Perlinen. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 26 minutes played, M. Rosensjö of Krotoszyn made the score 1 - 1. Many thought S. Lagreca ought to have been awarded a penalty 30 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around I. Rasenheim after a determined run through the middle. The guests took the lead 35 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in M. Alunno scoring to make it 1 - 2. F. Byskov came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over I. Sokolov but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. M. Olfert was called on to replace Krotoszyn's A. Saldaña after 38 minutes following a nasty collision. Halftime score was 1 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Krotoszyn, with 51 percent of the ball.

The Krotoszyn players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again. The crowd roared in delight as N. Stouten finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Krotoszyn 54 minutes into the match. 2 - 2. 59 minutes into the game, Krotoszyn seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation.
