The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 25115 had shown up at 71wiadroTerror for the match. Nikos Papathemelis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Berend Gilissen and Sérgio Alfama. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Gdańsk derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Staszki had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Tutka - Cedzyński, Yücel, Danielczyk - Apicella, Seras Blanco, Svensson, Maldonado, Białokozowicz - Jaszczuk, Filomeno.

Kamilozordy started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Szaran - Cudak, Drząszcz, Postolski, Koziełło - Hurko, Kubisiak, Hyła, Bartecki - Sarzyński, Zdziarski.

Staszki were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks. Staszki took the lead 2 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as T. Jaszczuk elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. One of many good crosses from G. Apicella on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by T. Jaszczuk, who scored for Staszki. 2 - 0 Staszki's V. Filomeno saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 9 minutes. Kamilozordy's B. Hurko was shown a yellow card after 29 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for Staszki, G. Apicella was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. K. Bystrowski replaced him. Staszki put themselves up 3 - 0 when A. Yücel broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. Staszki solidified their lead at the 41 minute mark, as V. Filomeno dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Staszki lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. P. Maldonado had a fantastic opportunity to put Staszki up another goal 42 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. 4 - 0 was the halftime score. Staszki claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.

The Staszki players could smell victory in the air. A. Yücel wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for B. Kęski after 46 minutes. Staszki's T. Jaszczuk increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 51 minutes. That made three goals for T. Jaszczuk and he was marked down for the hat trick. Staszki were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Staszki to 6 - 0 as C. Seras Blanco finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, C. Hyła got himself booked. The manager of Kamilozordy was not happy. After 75 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and V. Filomeno gave the Staszki supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 7 - 0. B. Kęski should probably have put his team up another goal after 79 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by A. Szaran kept the visitors in the game. B. Kęski wanted to play on, but the Staszki coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 80 minutes into the game by T. Szadurski. After 83 minutes, V. Filomeno put Staszki ahead 8 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. At that, V. Filomeno was noted down for a hat trick! Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Staszki, with 77 percent of the ball.

Most important Staszki player was T. Jaszczuk. F. Danielczyk on the other hand, had a terrible day. Kamilozordy's top performer was clearly L. Kubisiak. A. Szaran was a disappointment, however. The match ends 8 - 0.
