jyKroKo 3 - 2 Schwochstöll (387496585)

25870 fans braved the pouring rain at jyKroKo Bassena. Wisis Lisbach was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rolf Grotius and Asko Myllytie. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for jyKroKo. Lineup: Requelme - Gillhausen, Coassin, Wippl, Zöhrer - Kizel, Arbildo, Thom, dos Reis - Donkov, Klukowski.

Schwochstöll tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Starters: Kirchberger - Kreisky, Mayer, Müllauer - Kisielewski, Jordan, Grundner, Engel, Lammer - Trobbiani, Wertheim.

B. dos Reis's speed was clear to see after 14 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released V. Donkov who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 1 - 0. J. Thom was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! Schwochstöll had a chance to level the score as H. Jordan suddenly found himself free in the middle of the box with only the keeper to beat, but he misjudged the finish, and only managed to hit the bar. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of jyKroKo to 2 - 0 as V. Donkov finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Schwochstöll certainly deserved a goal after some stunning play down the left, but M. Trobbiani just wasn't able to finish. After 44 minutes, Schwochstöll sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached H. Jordan, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 1. jyKroKo's L. Arbildo left the field after 44 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was E. Grave. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by jyKroKo, with 53 percent of the ball.

B. dos Reis, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. Given a free kick close to the byline, Schwochstöll tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let P. Mayer slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 2 - 2, 62 minutes into the game. Schwochstöll's P. Kreisky got himself booked for a foul. M. Requelme was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so jyKroKo's S. Hederberg had to come off the bench. With 75 minutes played J. Thom almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. jyKroKo took the lead 82 minutes into the game by 3 - 2, as E. Grave elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. jyKroKo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

The most dominating jyKroKo player was without a doubt V. Donkov. S. Hederberg on the other hand, had a terrible day. M. Engel performed admirably for Schwochstöll. On the other hand, M. Trobbiani's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 2.
