Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at
DerBunker a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Rolf Rasmussen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fermín Pérez Miguel and
Peter Walch.
Little started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Abeliuk - Fashandi, Swadźba, Nasi, Thonhofer - Gattermayer, John, Dümmig, Sacaluga - Bradipo, Dongelmans.
OTK decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: Zych - Brenner, Rapp, Kerber, Aschaber - Kocsis, Schopf, Schuberth, Stauder - Koller, Udry.
Little decided to play creatively.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 22 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
E. Nasi, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
E. Udry of OTK displayed some of his fantastic technical abilities when he brought the ball down neatly using his instep before nutmegging the bewildered
M. Thonhofer and smashing an unstoppable shot past the goalkeeper to make it 1 - 1.
Little made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
A. Bradipo completely alone with keeper
V. Zych, who made a spectacular block.
A. Dongelmans gave Little the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1
A. Kocsis of OTK received a yellow card after 34 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
A. Bradipo unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
2 - 1 was the halftime score.
Little claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.
After 47 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
A. Dongelmans might have resulted in another goal for Little. However,
V. Zych made a spectacular save.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Little coach let
H. Siegl replace
M. Sacaluga after 50 minutes.
A. Fashandi wanted to play on, but the Little coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 65 minutes into the game by
G. Hagen.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
A. Bradipo from Little a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
A. Dongelmans left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 75 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
S. Krainer was the replacement.
The score became 3 - 1 at 76 minutes into the game, when Little were given a penalty which
P. John blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance!
Little increased the lead as
A. Bradipo struck to make the score 4 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Confident in their lead, Little's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
A. Bradipo had a fantastic opportunity to put Little up another goal 84 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
Little had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.
Most important Little player was
E. Nasi.
H. Siegl on the other hand, had a terrible day.
OTK's top performer was clearly
F. Koller.
E. Stauder was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 1.
