Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 14240 at MNB Arena today. Rintje Broersma was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Olli Tilvis and Vincenzo Terranova. A badly positioned defensive formation on a free kick after 10 minutes led to Gdanki's H. Bartosiewicz giving the visitors the lead 0 - 1. Gdanki's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 18 minutes gone, but H. Fast Nielsen's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper. 24 minutes into the game, Gdanki worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. G. Mruz was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for MamyNoweButy with a strike from the left, but P. Fontes managed to ward the shot off for a corner. With 31 minutes played, M. Negrea nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. After 36 minutes, G. Mruz made a dash down the middle past the away team's defenders to score the goal that made it 1 - 1. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. MamyNoweButy enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

MamyNoweButy's A. Košinskas had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 67 minutes having been played. S. Ilczuk was the replacement. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 69 minutes, MamyNoweButy tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Gdanki substitution. R. Bontemps came on for R. Odesser. MamyNoweButy fans held their breath as A. Ventura Silva scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 2 - 1! Possession in this half belonged to MamyNoweButy, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

The most dominating MamyNoweButy player was without a doubt S. Oliva. However, S. Ilczuk made a disastrous appearance. Most important Gdanki player was M. Negrea. W. van der Velden was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
