Dark skies made the crowd of 10033 at
CFC Bridge a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Michaël Grall was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Niclas Mathiasson and
Laurent Fossier.
Team started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Hasevoets - Kuśmierz, Eckhardt-Heble, Dijks, Przystał - Terry, Bienfait, Vesnaver, Dvorák - Morales, Achondo.
A 4-3-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Dragonis.
Lineup: Chapeau - Kramer, Abrams, Paździora, Struciński - Dabelsteen, Świdurski, Suliga - Gran, Haberle, Gurba.
Team used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Dragonis.
Team's
T. Eckhardt-Heble got himself booked for a foul.
K. Suliga of Dragonis was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish
D. Kuśmierz, which resulted in a goal making the score 0 - 1.
Team's
I. Achondo put his head to a well placed ball, lifted in from the left, and scored to make the score 1 - 1 with 25 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock.
Team players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
With 31 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of Dragonis resulted in a counterattack that set
T. Abrams free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save.
G. Haberle came close to putting the visiting team one up 32 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but
G. Hasevoets managed to tip the ball to a corner.
N. Terry showed why he is feared on the counterattack, breaking through in the middle and scoring for Team after 33 minutes to make the score 2 - 1.
Halftime score was 2 - 1.
Team had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
K. Przystał should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Dragonis a goal with 60 minutes of the match played.
A foul called during a Dragonis counterattack resulted in a great chance to score, but
A. Gurba's shot rattled off the post.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
N. Terry squirmed through their central defence after 67 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1.
Dragonis's
K. Suliga was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 77 minutes.
After 79 minutes Dragonis's
H. Struciński contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
Team enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.
Most important Team player was
S. Bienfait.
On the other hand,
K. Przystał's play was disheartening.
Dragonis's best player was
G. Haberle.
C. Dabelsteen was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
