10946 spectators arrived at Donaustädter AC Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Delbert Moore was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alan Kellie and Ibraheem Abdulah Abu-Abdul. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Wien derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Donaustädter had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Paar - Hagspiel, Flögel, Waltl, Ebner - Vonbank, Künstler, Gospić, Kreuzwegerer - Haidinger, Rauscher.

Punxtars started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Arraya - Scherz, Stegemann, Brion, Bolechowski - Philipp, Rusinovich, Cosca, Sikkes - Dinga, Carriero.

Punxtars decided to play creatively. Punxtars's R. Cosca gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 25 minutes with a superb strike from the right. S. Künstler acted foolishly after 32 minutes, giving the ball up to Punxtars's M. Dinga who had no trouble finding the back of the net. 0 - 2. P. Carriero of Punxtars took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 36 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Punxtars lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After 38 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed P. Carriero to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 4. M. Dinga received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 39 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 5. The Punxtars fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. A. Rusinovich received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 40 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Punxtars's M. Scherz placed the ball right at his teammate's feet after a corner, but P. Carriero couldn't finish. Some fine movement on the left led to a Punxtars goal after 42 minutes, making it 0 - 6. P. Carriero was noted down as the scorer. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for P. Carriero. Halftime score was 0 - 6. Punxtars had most of the ball, with 75 percent of possession.

P. Carriero increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 7. Punxtars's R. Philipp got himself booked for a foul. After 58 minutes, Punxtars's M. Dinga burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 8. That made three goals for M. Dinga and he was marked down for the hat trick. R. Cosca left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. D. Steinmayer was the replacement. A drive down the left side allowed D. Bolechowski to get in close and score another goal for Punxtars after 61 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 9. Punxtars's D. Bolechowski had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 65 minutes having been played. G. Dampfhofer was the replacement. The home crowd was not impressed when P. Carriero came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 74 minutes. Punxtars were now up 0 - 10. The coach of Punxtars was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 76 minutes, R. Obstgärten came on for P. Carriero. Punxtars claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 82 percent.

Donaustädter's best player was M. Vonbank. C. Hagspiel turned in a dismal performance, however. A. Rusinovich performed admirably for Punxtars. On the other hand, A. Brion's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 10.
