Moani 0 - 0 Ilija
(387613865)

24-06-2012 09.30
12000 spectators had found their way to
Moani Arena, despite the heavy rain.
Ohad Limor was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tore Leijonsten and
Kim Jansson.
Moani tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Vaniš - Weiss, Haydn, Hasenhüttl, Güner - Schöpf, Klug, Schober, Mikulić - Wegesser, Hammer.
Ilija had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
The following players took the field: Kratzer - Bakota, Knöbl, Zelenka, Hampel - Arbesser, Sari, Plöckinger, Seidl - Hofböck, Dilinur.
B. Güner of Moani received a yellow card after 5 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but
D. Wegesser showed great heart and had a good game.
F. Arbesser slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today.
Making his way up the middle 36 minutes into the match,
G. Schöpf almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
W. Kratzer blocked it to keep the score level.
A counterattack by Ilija after 37 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
G. Sari, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
0 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Ilija claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
62 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but
A. Dilinur, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide.
Ilija had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 69 minutes in when
F. Arbesser came up alone against
M. Vaniš who managed a block.
The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 73 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by
M. Vaniš.
Moani almost scored after a counterattack 74 minutes into the match, but
B. Güner took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net.
M. Vaniš looked great 82 minutes into the match after stopping a shot from the middle of the penalty area from the visitors'
A. Dilinur.
Ilija had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
A. Schober performed admirably for Moani.
On the other hand,
M. Vaniš's play was disheartening.
Most important Ilija player was
G. Seidl.
J. Zelenka turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 0.
