previous 9/10 next 1/10  ANGERN 2 - 1 PzAB (387613870)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 12050 to ANGERNer Arena. Josef Varga was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Wilko Nijman and Tomasz Gryszkiewicz. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Niederösterreich derby and the crowd was divided evenly. ANGERN decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Starters: Hadok - Bauer, Fuchs, Filyó, Pirker - Kraus, Pflaum, Bergolth, Leitner - Grissmann, Essel.

PzAB started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. Lineup: Petrič - Frűhauf, Tockner, Hofer, Stanojevic - Seiwald, Kern, Jandl, Voggenhuber - Baier, Moser.

Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile P. Voggenhuber. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when G. Tockner was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 36 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! M. Frűhauf acted foolishly after 37 minutes, giving the ball up to ANGERN's R. Grissmann who had no trouble finding the back of the net. 1 - 0. T. Pflaum could have increased the lead after 41 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. In a rapid move 42 minutes into the match, P. Moser of PzAB lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked K. Baier who easily hit it home to make it 1 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! At 43 minutes played, R. Grissmann came in from the right with the intention of giving ANGERN the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to ANGERN, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

R. Grissmann found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. Making his way up the middle 60 minutes into the match, T. Leitner almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert A. Petrič blocked it to keep the score level. T. Leitner gave ANGERN the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1 ANGERN claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

ANGERN's best player was R. Grissmann. However, H. Hadok made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating PzAB player was without a doubt K. Baier. Z. Stanojevic on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
